SuperStar Survival Skills
Sarah is a bright 18 year old who is getting ready to go to the university in Australia. She is nervous about some things; in particular she
realizes that her cooking skills are lacking and she is unsure about how to select groceries when shopping at the supermarket.
With busy working parents and a maid to take care of her every need at home, it is daunting that she has to live on her own and prepare her own meals.
There are many young students who are leaving home for the first time and will be in a similar dilemma as Sarah.
To help students better manage with this situation, there is now a 3-hour workshop taught by a veteran Home Economics teacher to show these students how to cook simple meals, shop for groceries and read food labels in supermarkets.
Objectives of the Workshop
After the course, participants will be able to:
· Prepare 3 meals a day
· Understand the importance of reading food labels
· Learn to choose fresh produce in supermarkets
· How to keep tidy a house.
· Cooking Demonstration
· Hands-On Session
· Group Discussion
